About Chia Film

Chia Film is a small, independent site that explains casino games in plain language. We cover how slots are built, how a blackjack or baccarat hand is dealt, how poker hands are ranked, what odds and return figures really mean, and how a player can keep spending under control. Everything here is written for adults aged 18 or over, or older where local law sets a higher age.

The point of the site

Most gambling content online is written to get people playing. Ours is written to help people understand. That difference shapes every page. We describe the rules of a game before anything else, we put the house edge in plain sight rather than in a footnote, and we never suggest that a system, a pattern or a lucky streak can turn the odds around. A reader who finishes one of our explainers and decides not to play has not been let down; they have made an informed choice.

What you will find here

  • Slots — random number generators, reels, volatility and return to player, starting with how slot machines work.
  • Blackjack — the rules, the dealer's routine and the decisions that matter, from how to play blackjack onwards.
  • Table games — baccarat and other games played on the felt, explained step by step.
  • Poker — hand rankings, variants and the basics that every beginner needs first.
  • Gambling with cards — older pieces on card games, decks and odds.
  • Online strategy — budgets, limits and habits, including our guide to bankroll management.

If you are not sure where to begin, Where Things Live sorts our articles into reading paths, and Jargon, Decoded explains the terms that tend to trip people up.

What we are not

Chia Film is not a casino, a bookmaker or an affiliate directory. We do not take bets, hold accounts, run games or process payments. We do not rank operators or tell anyone where to play. Some of the older articles in our archive date from an earlier period of the site and mention individual platforms; we keep them for reference, but our own recommendation has never changed: check that any operator is licensed where you live, and that gambling is legal for you, before anything else.

How we write

Our pieces are written by a small team using pen names. None of us claims a professional title, and we do not invent credentials, quotes or research to sound more authoritative. Where we use numbers, they are either well-established results that follow from a game's rules, such as the number of pockets on a roulette wheel, or examples clearly marked as made up. The rules we follow are set out in full on Standards We Keep, and the reasons we started writing in the first place are on Why We Bother.

A word on safer play

Gambling should be a paid pastime with a clear budget, never a way to solve money problems. Every article we publish includes a reminder to that effect, and our Gambling Help & Support page lists warning signs, practical limits and the kinds of organisations that can help.

Getting in touch

We welcome corrections, questions about a rule and suggestions for games we have not covered yet. The quickest route is through our contact page. We read every message, though we cannot help with disputes involving a gambling account; those belong with the operator and its regulator.

Chia Film at a glance

What this site is, in five lines

The short version for anyone arriving for the first time.

  • An explainer site about casino games, for an audience of adults only (18+).

  • No bets, no accounts, no deposits and no games are run here.

  • Written by a small team under pen names, with no claimed titles.

  • Every figure either follows from a game's rules or is marked as an example.

  • Each article ends with a reminder to set limits, written for that piece.

Two ways to look at a game

What the lobby suggests and what the rules say

Casino marketing and casino maths tell rather different stories. We write from the second column.

The lobby's version

  • Big jackpots shown front and centre
  • Bonuses that sound like free money
  • Hot and cold labels on machines
  • Systems that promise to beat the table
  • Wins celebrated, losses left quiet

The rulebook's version

  • Rare top prizes funded by everyone's stakes
  • Wagering terms that decide a bonus's real value
  • Independent results with no memory
  • An edge that stays with the house on every bet
  • Losses counted just as carefully as wins

Knowing the rulebook's version will not make you win more often, but it does make every decision an informed one.
